Daily Commute

The alarm clock sounds, I hit the button and turn it off. It is 0500 hrs and my day begins, I prepare for the "RACE"! I have breakfast, check the weather, and the race begins. Every Monday through Friday, a totally unsanctioned NASCAR race begins, well at least Nascar wanna be's are getting prepared, hundreds of drivers, every type of car and truck. The hope of becoming the next Driver to move up to the "Big Leagues"!

I check out the vehicle, check the tires, check the fuel, check the oil, while warming up the engine. This morning the race began as I turned onto University Blvd. I had a driver pull out in front of me, to cut me off and to win the race. Only I floored it and zoomed right by him. It continued like this all the way to the office! Only today was not the day, someone else must of won the race, there was no fanfare, no checkered flag, no beautiful girl to kiss me, no trip to the winners circle!

Well tomorrow "The Race" starts anew, and my heart is excited, and I hope I can sleep tonight, so I can be ready to race again.
